In this project, we delivered Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) research data services to the client, adhering to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards for major companies and corporations worldwide. Starting in 2019 with just five team members and no prior experience in the technical and scientific research of ESG metrics, we successfully and efficiently completed the project on time.
The client offers an end-to-end SaaS solution designed for automated sustainability analysis and reporting. They faced challenges in ESG data management, specifically in compiling data from multiple disparate sources and preparing it to support their AI-powered automated reporting tool for generating fast and accurate sustainability reports.
This project was a unique undertaking for our data management team, with no prior experience or understanding of its scope or the specific ESG data requirements. The client provided minimal guidance—only a sample report and a few multilingual data source URLs from global organizations—without offering a training manual, SoP, or detailed instructions.
Our primary challenge was sourcing specialized expertise in the sustainability domain. Additionally, we had to establish processes and implement rigorous data quality monitoring to ensure successful delivery within the predetermined project timeline.
Our team gathered relevant data from various sources and developed a well-structured, easily accessible dataset. Using completed reports, we created the project’s Standard Operating Procedure (SoP), which received the client’s approval and commendation. The final dataset underwent thorough quality and accessibility analysis, followed by cleaning, before being delivered to the client.
After achieving two years of successful results with a team of 5–10 members, the client expanded their operations by establishing a dedicated team of 35 members in their third year of collaboration with us.
